So, yeah…I did a thing. Okay, I did a few things this week.
First, I start writing a book. I wanted to start writing a book about my health journey. But, to be honest, I don’t think I am that interesting, and I don’t think it would be helpful. However, using my story to illustrate meaningful self-care might be helpful. I am not the poster child for woo-woo, superficial parts of self-care. My work, life, and experiences give me a great background to help people build a solid foundation to help resolve some of the stressors that feed the need for self-care. I am actually applying what I know and teach people to my life. WHAT A SHOCK! It works. The working title of the book is Practical Self-Care.
Second, I changed my calorie goal back to releasing 2 lbs a week. So, I am back to 1,450 calories per day. I figured out that if I bundle myself up like the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man, I can stay warm enough to go walking. So, walking I am. I am also going to physical therapy, and it is helping my hips a lot. Fingers crossed. The stress with helping my parents every night has subsided. I also genuinely believe that this small crisis will be resolved next week. Unless something bizarre happens, Mom should be out of her brace on Tuesday. The doctor told her last month that they didn’t see a break. They are taking new x-rays and hopefully will have better answers. And mom will be brace-free.
Lastly, I signed up for a Health and Wellness Coach certification course, with a weight-loss course. While this is primarily to help me in what I am doing, it will also help with the book and a career change. I am excited about getting the material and starting this part of my journey.
I don’t have much else. Saturday will be my regular check-in. My stay-cation is ending, and I go back to the job on Monday (mostly likely on Sunday so I can get somethings done).
It is a cruel, crazy, beautiful world. Please remember to be kind, especially to yourself.
